What kind of projects does Kinetic Film work with?

Kinetic Film works primarily with independent narrative film and television projects, from development through to production. We work with producers, production companies and filmmaking teams who need experienced support with audience strategy, budgeting, production planning, physical production or co-production.

For projects at development or packaging stage, explore how our Audience Design for Film & Television service can help clarify audience, positioning and market potential.

You can approach us at different stages of a project. Some clients come to us during early development for audience or feasibility work, while others need a professional budget, production planning or additional production capacity as the project moves towards financing and production. If you are unsure whether the timing is right, contact us and tell us where the project currently stands.

Audience thinking can be particularly valuable early in development. See how Kinetic approaches Audience Design and where it can support producer decisions.

An Audience Design Report examines who a film is most likely to connect with and what that means for its development, positioning and route to market. Depending on the project, this can include audience identification, segmentation, comparable titles, audience behaviour, market positioning, festival and distribution considerations, and practical recommendations for the producer.

For a fuller explanation of the methodology, analysis and deliverables, explore our Audience Design for Film & Television service.

Audience Design Reports typically cost between £950 and £1,500, depending on the project, scope of research and level of analysis required. We will confirm the scope and fee before work begins.

Yes. Kinetic Film provides professional budgeting and production-planning support using Movie Magic Budgeting where appropriate. This can range from preliminary and feasibility budgets through to detailed production budgets, budget reviews and revisions.

The approach is production-led, with the budget built around the practical requirements and assumptions of the project rather than simply assigning figures to a template.

Yes. Kinetic Film can work with overseas producers who require a UK production partner or additional production capacity.

Depending on the project, this may include UK budgeting, production planning, crew and supplier sourcing, locations, production management, regional support and physical production.

Production services are normally provided on a fee-for-service basis, with Kinetic Film delivering defined production responsibilities on behalf of the producer or production company.

A co-production is a deeper producer-level relationship in which Kinetic Film may take defined creative, financial, production or contractual responsibilities within the project.

Not every project requiring UK production support needs to become a co-production.

Yes, selectively.

We are interested in credible narrative film and television projects where there is a clear reason for Kinetic Film to become involved as a production or co-production partner. We will normally want to understand the project’s creative package, budget, financing position, development stage and proposed production structure before considering a deeper involvement.

You do not need to prepare a formal proposal before contacting us. If the project looks like something we can help with, we can arrange an initial conversation and determine the appropriate next step.
